Poussi: Being honored at the Cairo International Film Festival has a different impact



Poussi: “Although I’ve been honored in many local and Arabian artistic festivals, and despite being awarded a lot for my different roles in many films, I honestly feel like honoring me this year has a much different impact than all the other honors and awards.”

That was Poussi’s reply when she was asked about how it feels to be honored in the CIFF this year, then she added: “I was truly totally consumed by that emotion the moment I went on stage and hearing the applause of the audience and reporters who came to the opening ceremony, and although my time standing on stage didn’t last for too long, it was still one of the most precious moments in my life as if this was the first time I am ever being honored, at that moment I could see my whole life like a film strip before my eyes, I spent my entire life inside studios since I was a little girl and till this day.”


The beloved artist went on saying: “Yes, I have spent more time in filming platos more than that I spent at home with my kids, and honestly speaking, I’m so proud of my career and I wish I can go on entertaining people with distinctive, diverse roles till the last day of my life.”


And about the movies she participated in while she was still a little girl she remembers: “So many movies like “Oudy Ya Ommi” (Come Back Mom) playing Nadia Lotfy’s daughter, “Al-Layali Al-Dafe’a” (The Warm Nights) with Sabah, “Hatha Arragol Ohebboh” (I Love This Man) with Yahia Chahine, and I also portrayed the character of Raba’a Al-Adaweya as a child in “Shaheedat Al-Hob Al-Ilahy” (The Martyr Of Divine Love), and I’ve been selected to play these roles through the TV programs I used to participate in as a child.”


As for the most important films she has starred in as an adult which she really treasures she said: “oh there’s a lot such as “Qetta Ala Nar” (Cat On A Hot Tin Roof), “Bayt Men Al-Remal” (A House Of Sand), “Sana Oula Hob” (First Year In Love), “Habibi Da’eman” (My Love, Forever), “Marzouqa” (Marzouka), “Al-Gentel” (Al-Gentle), and much much more films.”
